Parts of Yellowstone National Park have been extensively leased for oil and gas, with more than 3,000 wells already drilled and industry is pushing for still more leases and drilling permits in this biologically crucial area. And the Bush administration is working hard to fulfill their requests.

The administration’s latest plan for the area calls for TRIPLING the current number of wells as well as opening for development swaths of biologically important big game habitat for development.

Oil: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed.

Bush = FAIL!

I’m Not A Plastic Cup double walled porcelain mug with silicon...

I’m Not A Plastic Cup double walled porcelain mug with silicon lid.

SMALLEST CARBON FOOTPRINTS

Hmm…is this meant to bolster our oil reserves while
at the same time bring civilian nuclear energy
to Saudi Arabia? So, here’s 1 point for Nuclear Energy to
be the next black market drug that will push us toward
the brink of war.

I mean who gets to have “civilian” nuclear energy in the future
and who doesn’t? Iran? North Korea? We get to decide?

Actually…We’ve already offered nuclear to Iran in the past.

WIRED chimes in on what Environmentalism should really be about....

WIRED chimes in on what Environmentalism should really be about. Although I don’t agree with everything, like going “all in” with nuclear energy rather than continuing our wind, solar, wave power technologies…it’s well worth reading.

Like most arguments, it’s difficult to make black and white. For instance, their claim that city slickers have less of a carbon footprint due to public transportation, shared living spaces, etc…but how much carbon is used to fly, ship, drive their romantic dinner to their plates? Where are the urban farms? They don’t mention this…

Yes.
